Symeon, the founder/owner of RK9 Academy, has a love for nature, deep-rooted passion
for animals and an affinity for animal behavior. These attributes showed themselves from a
young age and have been a reoccurring theme throughout his life along with his love for
music. Symeon has been training dogs, learning training methods and continuing the
sharpening of his skills for much of his life… ever – learning and evolving
Along with a passion for animals and learning how they think, Symeon brings the
experience of 14 successful years of being a public-school teacher. His classroom
experience offers special perspective and certain insight to his dog clients and their
owners.
Symeon is also a licensed falconer in the state of Mississippi. He likes to say that falconry,
the sport or art of taking a wild raptor and training it to hunt in partnership with humans,
kind of found him.
He says“… there is something intriguing and humbling about an animal that chooses to work with
you to achieve a shared goal”.
Although the nature of a wild bird of prey may be different from that of the family dog,
intimately knowing the differences informs his training methods to hone in on the drives
that every animal (and human) will possess.
